Swing dancing is fun, you meet lovely people and its a great way to keep active and feel good. It looks a bit like Rock n Roll and is danced to Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and the Rat Pack…
Swing dance cork has a vibrant community of friendly people who love to dance and socialize from all walks of life and all ages. There is always space for anyone to come along and join us.
There are beginner friendly drop-in classes and weekly Swing dance club from Aug 24th, weekly courses from September 22nd and occassional swing socials in cool venues around the city.
Mondays -‘Deca-Dance’ Swing dance club the Liquid Lounge Princes St. From Aug 24th complete beginner drop-in Swing classes and 5 wk courses in Balboa (close hold Swing). Balboa 8.00pm - 8.50pm €50 a course.
Swing 9.00pm-9.45pm €8 a class or Swing Disco 9.45pm to 10.45pm €5.
Relax, soak up the atmosphere and be inspired by dance movies on the screen…
Tuesdays – Clonakilty the Emmet Hotel - Sept 22nd 6 week beginners courses. Charleston 8.00pm-8.50pm, Swing 9.00pm-9.50pm. Dancing til 10.30pm. €48 a course or €70 for both or €100 for a male/ female couple doing both courses. Places limited - please book in advance.
Wednesdays -The Firkin Crane Shandon Sept 23rd. 10 week Swing courses €100.
Beginner Lindy Hop 7.30pm – 8.30pm (all welcome). Imp/inter 8.45pm – 9.45pm (2x 10wk beginner courses done prior to joining this course)
Both classes practice dancing together 8.30pm - 8.45pm ‘that’s what gets results…OH YEH’
